|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Field, Mt. Willey, Mt. Tom, NH|
||Avalon Trail, Willey Range Trail, A-Z Trail, Mt. Tom Spur|
|Date of Hike:
||Tuesday, February 9, 2021|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||All bridged. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||There are several blowdowns on the Avalon Trail. Notable is a large blow down across the second water crossing. At present it is possible to duck under. Ideally this blow down should be removed while the crossing is still frozen. |
|Lost and Found:
||Trails all have a solid packed base. Snowshoes all the way. Traction was excellent on the steep sections both going up and down. 1" to 2" of new snow this morning, with some minor drifting. |
The snow is deep at elevation. If you step off the trail without snowshoes, you will be up to your you-know-what.
