Was planning to do North & Middle Tripyramid today but my legs weren't having it. I usually hike at least every weekend but I've bee slacking these last two weeks so my legs feel a bit rusty. Probably for the best since the snow really started to come down the moment I started descending Pine Bend.
There was one set of snowshoe tracks on Sabbaday Brook trail so I tried to pack it down a bit further, very unconsolidated, however. With this new snow incoming, I recommend snowshoes for all trails in the next few days. Decided to go down Pine Bend only after seeing how steep and butt-sled the last part of SB was. Took a nice fall up there which was fun, glad I didn't mess up my leg too badly, just hurt a bit. Ironic that it would be my first hike with my PLB. Can't really recommend SB over PB for anyone unless you love breaking trail and 40% grades.
All in all, a good day to be out and a good day to tick another winter 4ker off my list. |
