There were quite a few blowdowns on the Wildcat Ridge Trail, including 2 crawl-unders. I cleared a couple of small ones and limbed/cleaned-up a couple of the larger ones to remove some of the eye-pokers and pack=catchers. |

Out-and-back from the ski area parking lot. I was on the ski trails way early because of the limitations on uphill use. Ran into a couple of skiers skinning up, which I was surprised to see that early.
The Wildcat Ridge Trail has a good snowshoe track. Looks like just about everyone that's been on the trail since the last snowstorm must have been using snowshoes. It's still a bit soft, however, and snowshoes are definitely the best choice at present.
I took a very short shortcut on the return trip to cut off the last steep section and avoid going over Wildcat D. Cuts out maybe a couple of tenths of a mile and eliminates a small amount of elevation. |
