Comments
Comments: Decent snow track - you could use either snowshoes or light traction today by the time I started about 10 a.m.. Snowshoes slightly better choice between Starr King and Waumbek summit - just a bit slippery in Hillsounds due to soft powder over the snow track. Track needs a bit of thaw and freeze to make it really solid. My Hillsounds are recently sharpened so I stuck with those and my snowshoes went for a ride on my pack. I never post-holed in the spikes so that speaks somewhat to the decent solidness of the track.
