Snowshoes from start to finish. 19MBT great snowshoes track, Carter Dome Trail had seen one set of snowshoes from yesterday up to Carter Dome summit. Carter-Moriah Trail from Zeta Pass across South to Middle Carter and down North Carter Trail had not been broken out since the storm, around a foot, some bigger drifts here and there but straightforward breaking and the trail corridor was easy to follow. South link of Imp Trail had just been broken out by a solo hiker when we reached the junction, and we then saw another two hikers in snowshoes halfway to Camp Dodge. Snowshoes are a must once leaving 19MBT.
Beautiful morning on the trails, with some sweet views. |
