Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The larger parking lot was completely plowed. We continued further up the road to the trailhead and the area right at the trailhead was nicely plowed, enough to fit maybe 4-6 vehicles. We were the only ones when we arrived, and the only ones when we left.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All easy to jump across...or simply step across if you are taller than me :)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail was in good condition. Only one big blow down, easy to step over, even in snow shoes :) On our way back down there was a new blow down that happened after we had gone up, very small tree which my partner removed from the trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No doggos today.
Bugs
Bugs: We actually saw one bug as we were almost back to the trailhead. I do not know what kind, resembled a mosquito and was crawling on the snow.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing lost, nothing found.

Comments
Comments: Trail was in very good condition. Pretty well packed with a nice snowshoe track started from the amazing peeps who packed it out earlier in the week. Still very soft though, and it snowed all day so snowshoes definitely needed. Multiple moose had post holed the hell out of a good stretch of the trail through Brunell Notch, but other than that, trail was great! Since it was snowing all day, there were a few inches of fresh snow, and there was some drifting from the cabin to the summit. The snow seemed to taper off in the afternoon so although the trail may not be packed, still should be pretty good, just soft. We were the only ones on the mountain today (Friday, 5 Feb), and we got to see 2 Pine Martens! Was an awesome day up there!!!
