Comments
Comments: Started out 6am. No one on this trail for entire time. Snow started in earnest around 930am. Was three inches by noon. Trail was a mix of loose snow with snowshoes and hiker prints alike. Got messier at the top. No ice anywhere. Rollins trail to Whiteface was NOT broken. Shout out to Brent, Melissa and Brent(nice hikers who let me tag along yesterday)for warning me not to attempt this part yesterday when I climbed Whiteface. It would have been very sketchy without Snowshoes and some really expert navigation skills.

Note: I did not use Snowshoes but can understand why anyone would. Now I realize the snowshoe community would scoff at this but you need to understand that not everyone can afford the expensive equipment. I usually see snowshoe folks either carrying their gear or moving too slow while in them. I would not jeopordize my safety but nor should I be shamed for attempting to summit without that gear. The term "barebooter" is being likened to leopracy on these reports from the last few days. Sorry the "monorail" was not to your liking folks but this is hiking. It's hard and there will be a few bumps along the way.
