After walking Little River Rd and crossing the bridge on the driveway, go 100 yards uphill to the "trail" sign. The old herd path is posted although almost all of the skiers have gone that way. The unused snowmobile trail was lightly traveled but easy going, Haystack Rd is a groomed snowmobile trail. Be mindful and step aside when you hear them coming. N Twin Tr and Firewarden's was lightly packed by a few skiers and a single snowshoer. There was a fresh 1-2 inches from Wednesday night on top of all that fell Tuesday. Stepping off the track put you knee deep or more, even with snowshoes. The skiers had all turned around at the top of the last switchback and I followed the lone set of snowshoe tracks for the last half mile to the summit. I was first at the summit today where it was cloudy and spitting snow so I only stayed 15 minutes. There is a very soft, yet nice, snowshoe track now. You will need snowshoes for the next several days. Please do you part to improve the footing.
