Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: There are two water crossings. Both were in, and fairly strong, although slushy on top.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails were in great shape. A bit hard to follow at the start. You begin with a road walk, and then it becomes a trail traversing up the side of a small ravine. The trail is not blazed well (blazes are in dark red). Look for cairnes, and if it is above the snow, you will see a water pipe running parallel to the river. Keep that pipe to your left while hiking up.

Comments
Comments: We had bare ground at the parking lot! That will change on Monday, Feb 1, 2021. We barebooted for just under a mile, and then put on microspikes. The trail does get steep in the middle. You may want snow shoes the following week, and hopefully the footing will be better, as down below there were patches of bare ground and patches of ice.
