Comments
Comments: Perfect winter hiking conditions. 18F weather throughout from base to summit and no wind. Clear blue skies and great views of Franconia Ridge. Final ascent above treeline is very exposed, so do bring windproof layers just in case.

Trail is consistently steep but microspikes were sufficient for entire trail. Was well-packed from weekend use. Most hikers we met on route including me carried snowshoes, but did not need them. Some sections coming down can be icy/barren later in the day as a lot of hikers butt slide down.

Overall, a great easy/moderate hike completely worth the drive from Boston!
