Comments
Comments: Trails are all packed out well but became softer (but supportive) when gaining elevation in the morning and a little more so as the day wore on. Ascending in the morning the softness began at ~ 3800' - even with a series of 'snow steps' - and stayed that way until Carriage Road where the trail was a bit more solid. On the way up I wore Microspikes and there were OK - in retrospect something like Hillsound Trail Crampon Pros might have worked a little better. At the summit I changed into snowshoes just so I wouldn't have to stop again to put them on going up to South Peak and then descending Glencliff - by this time it wasn't overkill. I just left them on until I got back to the lot but they were they best choice at least through the upper half of Glencliff Trail. The majority of folks I saw had snowshoes and the majority of them were wearing them at some points so hooray for that!

On a scale of 1-10 this trek registered about a 30: crisp blue skies, abundant sun, zero wind and near limitless views. I'm guessing it was probably in the teens when I got to the top at 11 AM but it felt like it was 40 - so I lingered for about 45 minutes, thanking Mother Nature for the day and her beauty. I was probably on South Peak for a good 30 minutes also. It was one of those days you just don't want to end.
