About an inch of fluffy snow over hard pack for most of the trail, so I barebooted the majority of it before switching to spikes when it got steeper. Snowshoes came along for the ride. Drifts along the exposed area near the top made it slightly confusing in terms of identifying the trail. Skies cleared as I approached the summit, and it was pretty magical. Winds were calm, and temperatures were mild, all things considered. Great conditions for a January hike. |
