used Hillsounds for the first 3 miles. Osseo was packed fairly well and no issues with post holing until the switchbacks. Put snowshoes on around 3 miles from the car because the snow was getting a little deeper and people had been bare booting it and the trail was getting chewed up. The ladders were difficult to get up with snowshoes but i was too lazy to take them off. on the descent it was snowshoe from the summit to the ladders. I switched to hillsounds for the ladders and then back to snowshoes after the steeps. Osseo could really use work with snowshoes. Above the ladders it was getting really rough with some post holing. Had the trail and the summit to myself the whole day. Not another person all day which is becoming a rarity. |
