| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking for Mt Tremont is alongside rte 302. The plowing creates a wider space but beware, Underneath that white "shoulder" is an invisible ditch that my right wheels went into; no longer invisible where I went. Parking seems firm just beyond the trailhead (heading toward Bartlett) |

Three-O-Two Spruce Trap
White Shoulder Near Road; A Ditch
Parking for Tremont
I want to extend a HUGE thank you to the 2 gentleman from Maine (hiking Cannon today) who pulled my car out of the ditch along 302 at the TH. There is still kindness in the world. Honestly made me want to cry to receive that help.
Like many trails right now you can start with bare boot or microspikes but snow depth increases as you go up though never very deep. Nevertheless, postholes were made. Snowshoes today might have repaired some of the damage. I would recommend snowshoes; it's easier than postholing and snowshoe heel lift makes the steep section much more fun. |
