Fantastic hike of the Hancock's with between and inch or two of fresh powder. I wore micros until just before Cedar Brook Trail and then snowshoes for the remaining hike. Today's warm temps seem to pack snow well. There is minor drifting between N/S Peaks as well as some choppy stretches and postholing. I met 4 other hikers today with snowshoes and and one on skis. It was nice chatting backcountry skis with him.
Hopefully the loop gets smoothed over today. Descending South wasn't bad with the fresh powder only ate the snow twice on the way down. |
