Comments
Comments: Three Ponds Trail was groomed for snowmobile traffic. Fine for snowshoeing, but a bit thin for snowmobiling.

Carr Mountain Trail initially had a foot of snowpack and an existing snowshoe trough. However, as we ascended through the hardwoods, the trough had drifted in with fresh powder. Once in the softwoods, we were breaking trail again, sometimes knee deep. Probably close to three feet of snowpack up high. Snowshoes a must.

No tracks coming up from the west.

Cold start with temperatures in the single digits and some strong wind gusts. Sunshine and blue skies were welcome. Saw no one else out on this trail.
