Comments
Comments: Beautiful cold sunny day. Winds didn’t pick up until after we summited Mount Israel.
Wentworth Trail to the summit well packed out and only light traction used. Excellent views at the summit.
However doing the loop we got on the Mead Trail which had been used but snowshoes definitely indicated. Kept them on until removing them once arriving at Sandwich Notch Road. Snowmobile grader and or snow machines allowed easy walking with out snowshoes. Didn’t see any machines, road may have been closed to them. Turned onto Bearcamp River Trail which was mostly ice and used light traction. Only saw a few people on the Bearcamp River Trail viewing Beene Falls which was beautiful and frozen. Walked past Cow Cave which was nice to view.
Overall a great loop with the usual great company of people and dogs!!
Total loop was 8.5 miles with 1,919 feet elevation gain.
