Comments
Comments: Had never done Hale in winter from Hale Brook Tr so decided to see what it would be like. Road walk was a well defined trough and skiers tracks were on the other side of the road. Plenty of snow. Road walk wasn't bad (never felt like Lincoln Woods). Hale Brook was a well defined trough with plenty of snow. 14 on trail today and 10 had on snowshoes. The snow is getting set but is not consolidated and snowshoes worked great. Spikes worked but some post holes and leaving imprints. Also the snow was loose enough that they slipped in places. Cold and some wind but not too bad and a great day out with Karen and John.
