Comments
Comments: We took 19 Mile Brook trail in all the way to Cotton Arch and the trail was kind of soft but not too bad. Once on the wildcat Ridge trail up to wildcat a the snow was a little deeper and much less consolidated. On the way up it was doable with a couple of spots where it was more difficult. on the way down it was challenging because I found myself skiing on my snowshoes a lot, and in a few places I fell and busted away, which was fine. then we made our way down into cotton or notch and we found the snow to be much deeper probably in excess of two ft. Fortunately, someone else came in behind us look like a single person's bare boot Prints, which supposed to hold in their way all the way down into cotton a notch and write up the catamaran trail to Carter Dome up the steep section. This was probably the most challenging part of the entire day. Once we got beyond the steepest part of this section, it was actually broken out pretty well by a few people that were wearing snow shoes all the way to Carter Dome. We descended the car to Don trail, to zeta pass. from data past down to the 19 Mile Brook trail was a mix of nicely packed down trail and soft unconsolidated trail. This is a little tough on the legs. Once back on the 19 Mile Brook trail to our delight it was nice and hard packed and made for a nice easy last 2 mi of hike.
