Trails were all in great shape. Does not appear they have had much traffic this week, and with the new snow, absolutely recommend snow shoes, I wore mine start to finish. There were a few cars in the lot when I arrived, and from the tracks, they were wearing snowshoes, and started packing down a new track from the fresh snow, maybe 3 or 4 inches. Trail is very soft. On my decent, two hikers passed me wearing spikes, so yes, it's doable, but the trail really needs some more help packing out a track. In non-winter, I prefer to go up North first, but today went up South (as did the hikers before me, at the junction there were no tracks heading up North). I am very happy with this decision :) Also on my decent, I saw 4 more hikers, all in snowshoes. Absolutely beautiful day up there! |
