Comments
Comments: Just some exploring on the NE slope of South Uncanoonuc, both on-trail and off. Trails were a mix of bare ground, mud, packed snow and some ice. We carried traction but never really needed it. From the junction of Link and Summit, we bushwhacked SE, mainly sticking to the contour. We hit an impressive area of blowdown destruction, then bumped into an abandoned / bootleg trail which appeared to continue up toward the summit. We followed it down until it ended near the bottom of Summit Trail at a very easy to miss junction. Off-trail conditions were patches of snow with mostly bare ground.
