Great ski! Start of road is poor conditions (thin snow on top of ice) but improves rapidly with elevation with 2 feet of snow on top of Pine Mountain. One tracked utility ATV vehicle of Horton Center worker has gone up and down both roads (tracks were useful at times), otherwise pristine snow except for our ski tracks. Locked gate on Pine Mountain Rd keeps other vehicles out. Trail on top was pristine snow but it was too steep and deep snow to ski so we barebooted/postholed to the top, but staying to side of trail. Tree branches laden with snow - gorgeous! And very fun ski down. |
