| Comments: |
Trail is somewhat packed near the beginning but is not smooth and instead has chunks of crusty snow and minor holes from people’s shoes. About 3.5 miles from the trailhead (5.5 miles from parking lot), there was significant drifting, and snowshoes were definitely needed. Drifts persisted to the summit. Trail was easy to follow in most places but had drifted over entirely in others, so pay attention to where you are going. I broke out the drifted parts with snowshoes, but they may just get drifted over again. Snowshoed all the way down in an attempt to smooth out the trail a bit. |
