slippery road getting up to the trailhead. someone slid back into the ditch trying to make it up. recommend parking across rt2 if you dont have 4wheel drive/ snow tires |

one or two blowdowns and some snow laden trees leaning into the trail but no big deal |

I was the first up today. spikes were sufficient to mt starr king. snowshoes were helpful to waumbek and back because of more fresh snow and drifts but you could make it without especially after many hikers out today. Lots of fresh moose tracks between Starr king and Waumbek |
