| Comments: |
Parked at Beaver Brook Picnic Area, hiked in a semi-loop of the XC trail, cut through to Gale River Road (popped out at campsite #3), then followed it around to the trailhead.
Snowshoes stayed on all day, loose powder down below, deep powder and drifts near the intersection with Garfield Ridge Trail to the Summit. On the way down we saw some tracks from bare booters coming up behind us, but they turned around mid-way. A wise choice, as the powder only got deeper further up. No views, but a gorgeous morning hike with snow globe conditions. From the hut to the summit was gorgeous.
Snowshoes are a MUST right now for this trail, anything else would make for a tedious and tiring day. |
