Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Spotted one car at Seven Dwarfs. Not plowed across the street from the hotel. Bring a shovel to clear the snowplow banks so you can get off the road. Or a jackhammer if it's been cold. And leave the owner $10 to preserve good relations of course. Spotted the other car at Five Corners. Had to clear a snowplow bank in the a.m. but the lot was plowed when we returned in the p.m.

Comments
Comments: 5-8" of new snow on the access route from Seven Dwarfs and on the lower elevations of North Twin Trail. This increases to roughly 15" as you gain elevation. None of the route was packed out until Galehead Hut, but it is a little bit now. Nora is superhuman and packed out the vast majority of North Twin Trail while I wheezed behind her like General Grievous. However there was just the two of us and the snow is still going to be pretty soft. If you have two pair of snowshoes, bring the floaty ones. Once we descended from South Twin on 15" of unbroken snow (whee!), the trip up to Galehead and then descent via the Gale River Trail was packed out thanks to Mardi et al. (see report below) but still plenty soft; bring the snowshoes. No monorail to speak of yet, so bare boots or spikes won't work. GRT over to Garfield is not packed out as of this writing.
