Made first mark in the new snow this morning, breaking trail all the way to the summit. 6-8" at the trailhead, 12" nearing the summit with higher drifts. Absolutely exhausting work with just 2 people in our group. It took 5 hours to make it to the summit.
A decent number of people out today notwithstanding the snowy windy conditions. Most people using snowshoes thankfully. The snowshoe track was forming nicely by the time of our decent. Snowshoes please, at least until the track gets compacted.
Yes, it was us that meandered on and off the trail between the cabin and the summit. |
