Comments
Comments: Started hike at 7:00am up Valley Way with light snow coming down the whole way. Once at the Hut the snow/wind really picked up. On Gulfside trail about 80-100 feet of visibility enough to see the next rock cairn. Snow drifting and accumulating around ice covered rocks/boulders making footing challenging. Micro spikes the whole day. Snowshoes would have helped for short drifted stretches above treeline but too many exposed rocks to step on or between. With both peaks done back at the Hut (at 2:00pm) within 15 minutes the whiteout conditions stopped and the skies opened up to a magnificent sunny blue afternoon. Welcome to the Presidentials.
