A FINE day in the forest! I was on the bit today and demolished my PR by an hour! Zoom flippin zoom! Trail conditions are absolutely prime right now, good spikes car to car. Ran into several familiar faces. I wanted my snowshoes for televators, but there is not enough snow to warrant their use at this time. Started off in the clouds but noted the sky turning grey, by the time I topped out to the flatter section of KRT, the sun was trying its hardest to poke through. By the summit... undercast. Today was one of those days when every turn was more beautiful then the last. The stoic tree sentinels have donned their heavy monocromatic winter blankets. They were a warm (ha ha) welcome and a true delight. By the time I had hit the side hill section below the summit, an undercast appeared. On the tower? Wild. North of the Notch today was a sea of clouds - did see Waumbek and Cabot poking through! A stunner of a day, end to end. |
