Comments
Comments: Pine Bend Brook Trail was mostly packed powder with some ice covered ledges on the steeps above Scaur (paths bypassing those sections). Still bony in places. I wore snowshoes for awhile, but spikes were best. Probably 6-12" of base.

Mt. Tripyramid Trail between the peaks was also well packed, but not too bony for snowshoes. Fine for spikes until we get more snow or some warm weather. Perhaps a foot or two of base in places.

Scaur Ridge Trail was not well packed. Snowshoes were needed, particularly in the softer sections in the sun. Generally 6-12" of base.

Livemore Trail had seen some use up to the Old Skidder junction, but snowshoes were needed. Beyond the junction there was no use, so snowshoes were very much needed. Would have been miserable without them. A little tricky breaking out the height of land due to some standing water, as well as a long stretch of ice shelves breaking under the snow. A little bony initially descending, but good snowshoeing thereafter (trail had been snowshoed for a few miles from the Kanc).

Pine Bend Brook was busy, but we had Scaur and Livemore to ourselves. Beautiful March-like weather with blue skies, minimal wind, and temperatures just above freezing in the afternoon sun.
