A fine day in the forest for another W for Ms. Mix-A-Lot. A thanks to Spence, Dan & Fin's trip report on 1/7 for giving us the heads up to leave the snowshoes in the car. Trail is a packed highway to Carter-Moriah. Along the ridge, massive two inch drifts have appeared. Laid fresh tracks. Wore rock spikes to the summit spur, after that I put on good spikes and wore them for the way out. Commanding views of the inside of a cloud on the summit of Moriah. I am a huge snowshoe supporter, and you probably could have worn them for a better part of the journey today for televators but in reality, the trail tread is not snowshoe width at this time, so you would be having to widen it a bit. Easier with spikes until the Snow Meiser returns... please come back... we miss you. |
