Comments
Comments: Uneventful clomp up Valley Way. Packed enough for spikes but we used shoes. Really, it's easier going.

Rock spikes up Madison and Adams, then over to Jeff. Cols and areas protected from the wind have mostly unpacked snow. Then it's exposed rocks again. Very bony. Up Jeff is more ambiguous. We kept the spikes on, but there was more snow esp. in the snowfields area and an argument can be made for switching out to snowshoes. Whatever you wear is going to take a beating on rocks.

Traverse over to Wash is decidedly more bony than up Jeff.

Cog up from the Gulfside intersection was either packed or crusted. Easy peasy.

Trinity up to Washington summit spikable up. Significant ice fields though that you'll likely bounce right out of in spikes and have a (very) bad day, so navigate around those. We wore crampons down through cog because (a) we already schlepped them all that way and (b) it was getting late and we didn't want to have to think about stepping in the wrong place on the ice fields in the dusk.

Cog was very snowy and getting packed out with moderate traffic.
