Comments
Comments: A great day for Moosilauke. Overcast and undercast, making for some interesting scenery. Relatively warm temps and light winds. While we opted for Glencliff, we saw others coming up from Gorge Brook and from Beaver Brook, so both should be packed out. With at least 20 cars in the lot/street when we arrived, we figured the recent 8" snowfall would be nicely trampled and decided to leave the snowshoes in the car. We ultimately decided that snowshoes were not necessary, but we may have worn them at times if we had brought them. Instead, the spikes stayed on throughout the hike. The top of Carriage Road is the typical windblown ice/crust. Some butt sledding and glissading on the way down made for a fast descent.
