Comments
Comments: PLEASE WEAR YOUR SNOWSHOES! Hale Brook Trail is soft and unconsolidated and there were some knee/thigh high post holes above 3000 feet. The narrow sideslope section could definitely use some snowshoe love to make it safer.

A couple of booters mucked it up all the way to the summit and they appear to have gone the way of Lend-a-Hand. Saw a mix of bareboot and snowshoe tracks from Fire Warden’s. Saw just boots towards Lend-a-Hand. I wore snowshoes as did one other person about 1/2 hour after me. Someone barebooted and mucked up the starter snowshoe tract for about 6/10ths of a mile from the Hale Brook lot before they turned around. I did my best to smooth it on my way out. I also did my best to hug the up-slope side along the sketchy narrow sideslope section to start a flatish track thru there. Thank you to “Brenda” for helping start a soft track by coming along after me.

Now,,, all you snowshoers get out there and give Hale Brook some more love and put down a solid track. :-)
