A FINE day to be in the forest! As many others will attest after me, today had a stunning undercast! Warm temps and much better trail conditions today than a few days ago (Gridiot's do the same peak in the same week.. ha!). There is enough snow in the steep section now to be able to use televators on snowshoes if you want to carry the weight, but through the entire trip there was only a few inches of new fresh powder and did not feel the need. A few had them with them, none wore them. As mentioned, we were treated to a stunning undercast from North Kinsman's ledge outlook. No views on South, but the second time by on North was even better. One of the best ones I have ever seen. 2021 - you are starting off pretty strong! All in all, trails in superb shape. We made it from North Kinsman to the car in an hour... zoom zoom! |
