| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of Parking at 3:45 AM, but it was packed when we left :). Privy open and with toilet paper. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction, Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Decent amount of waterflow, and icy rocks. Light traction highly recommended at the minimum for water crossings. Had poles but didn't use them. Rocks to step on were visible, but a few patches where one might step through weak ice |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A number of blowdowns on Bolles. Wish I brought a saw. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Dogs not recommended just yet. Too much ice with a dusting on top on Champney falls, and the Brook trail I would recommend real traction. |

| Comments: |
Conditions will change with snowfall. Real crampons recommended for the Brook trail. Surprisingly Bolles had enough traffic that snowshoes were not needed, but if you have 'em and can spare the weight bring them. |
