| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking at Glen Ellis lot and only one car at Rocky Branch later on in day. Had visit from moose here before starting road walk. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
All 5 crossings of Rocky Branch rockhoppable with last one slightly difficult (this would be first one if heading up from Rocky Branch trailhead). Poles were very useful on brook crossings, rock hopping long sections of wet trail and on the puncheons on the Davis Path. BW path obvious for crossings 3&4 and I recall taking one for 1&2 on a prior hike (although little longer) if brook running high. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Looks like lots of blowdowns recently cleared up on Davis Path. Thanks trailmaintainer. Puncheons unstable in places but it is Wilderness area. Nice signage at Isolation Spur now. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Glen Boulder side limited on water and a few rough scrambles, Rocky Branch side plenty of water as usual. |
|
| Bugs: |
Swarming flies once heading down Davis Path and anywhere that winds weren't blowing. Deet was a savior. |

| Comments: |
Trails drier than anticipated. Isolation and upper Rocky Branch trails were still very wet but from what I've read this is the norm. Only used Rocky Branch route once back in 2003. Poles very helpful but still slipped off rock into mud. Some nice walking on the Davis Path and great views on Glen Boulder Tr.. I myself wouldn't have enjoyed hike back over Slide Peak-Glen Boulder for out and back. Elevation gain and rough decent at end of day would've gotten me. |
