Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The lower two crossings of the Black Brook are kind of sketchy but can be done - water is flowing pretty good and there is lots of black ice on the rocks. No issues at the upper two.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Usual fallen trees on the old Wilderness Trail section of Bondcliff Trail. Two large ones down below the first Black Brook crossing that are walked around. There was another gnarly tree down in the same area but it looks like is was cleaned up during the day so thanks for that.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw two canines...and one feline - a first for me.
Bugs
Bugs: None.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Almost lost: my patience. I forgot my gaiters in the car, a link busted on one of my Hillsounds, my hiking pole came apart twice and I got a hole in my liner sock and another in my liner glove. What the heck???

Comments
Comments: Lincoln Woods Trail has minimal snow and is well packed. Bondcliff Trail is also well packed and had a small amount of mostly unconsolidated snow on top: minimal down low to maybe 2-3 inches between the SW slope of Bond to West Bond. From Bond to West Bond the underlying hard pack is a little chippy so a few awkward steps were taken. Bondcliff's summit to the col of Bond is mostly bare rock with trace amounts of snow and ice filling in. I barebooted to the stairs ascending Bondcliff Trail where I put on Hillsounds and left them on until descending Bondcliff toward Bond. I put them back on in the col and left them on to West Bond. Same routine in reverse but I left the Hillsounds on a little longer on descent of Bondcliff. There was no reason for anything more on the feet today - although that will likely change with incoming weather.

A gorgeous day for the Bonds: abundant sun and near zero wind. Blue skies in the morning gave way to some high filter clouds in the afternoon with some distant orange visible on the horizon. I probably saw around 15 or so others out there enjoying the day...given the conditions I'm surprised I didn't see many more.
