We saw over 100 other people today. Gorgeous hike! Doesn't feel as tough as the length/elevation would suggest. The ground was largely packed snow, with several stretches of ice. Microspikes were perfect. Poles would be helpful in some spots and glad we brought them. So many hikers welcoming the new year on this trail. We spent a short time on Mt Moosilauke summit and a longer time on the less-windy South Peak for lunch. Beautiful views along the way and from both summits! An epic memorably day for our first hike in 2021! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! |
