Opted for something mellow today, this was a great choice. Rock spikes from the car worked fine. Left snowshoes behind & didn't regret it. Could have used them crossing to shelter. Wind blown drifts were like concrete but did post hole once crossing water. Saw 1 other posthole in same area so my bad should have brought them. Trail is solid & well traveled to the split to shelter. Less traveled through here but still solid only spikes needed. Pond was beautiful, shelter was quiet. Only saw 4 others also heading for the shelter. 8-10 folks later heading to Ripley Falls. Very enjoyable day to be out! |
