Comments
Comments: Temps in the 20's & not much wind. The trail was packed & firm with about 2" of recent snow that added to the character. No issues at all but the upper part of Bunnell Notch was a mix of frozen washouts and easy monorail. The shoulder of Cabot was really firm and fast and the trail to the true summit was broken in nicely. I considered doing the longer loop hike out Kilkenny Ridge past the Bulge & Horn then descending Unknown Pond Trail but ended up just doing the out & back hike. Total time for the complete hike 3:50. 3rd peak in my attempt at the single-season Winter 48.
