 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
plenty of parking at the AMC Cardigan Lodge as there isn't really any viable skiing right now |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Clark Brook was too sketchy for me - even if i had on winter boots, I would not want to cross - thick ice with water pouring over it at all possible crossing spots. I turned back and went to find another way. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
no issues though there are multiple fir trees blown over the trail in the camping area that the trail passes through. |

Fun little exploration of alternative routes to Welton Falls while avoiding private property along the way. There are still remnants of the old trail but you need to stay on state forest property. Snow deepened the closer I got to the falls which were really running. VERY pretty. Totaled about 5 miles for all the back-and-forths and trying to find crossings. |
