Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Passed 2 people with a dog in the AM who turned around at the water crossing about 2.8 miles in. I was able to make it across, but the last 2 crossings can seem a bit daunting. I crossed to the left of the trail for both and it seemed that was the way most other hikers were going as well.

Comments
Comments: Heavily traveled trail. Saw 19 other people in total. Beautiful views from both outlooks and a beautiful sunrise from the Kanc. It was a perfect day for a hike. I was fine in (very blunt) spikes going up North Hancock and down South Hancock.

I left Hancock Loop Trail a bit past the North Hancock outlook to bushwack out to Northwest Hancock and took the ridge across. It was fairly open until a point in the middle where it was THICK. Maybe I just picked a horrible way to go, I'm not sure. I mostly stuck to the northeast side of the ridge. I was able to follow what I thought might have been a herd path to the summit and easily found the marker. I wasn't able to open the thing and sign the register :( I think the last person got part of the plastic bag stuck in the threads and I didn't want to break it. I was the only one to hit that summit since the last snow, but it would have been interesting to read the register to see exactly when the last person had actually summited :'(
The bushwack ended up taking a lot longer than I had expected and had nice partial views of what looked like Mt Washington off the backside on the way to the summit. Some drifts on the ridge up to a foot maybe a foot and a half. Most of the snow was a couple of inches.

The rest of the hike was normal and went as expected.
