Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No problem for dogs today except for very short section going up Resolution, which was extremely dangerous. About 50 yeards total of crossing steep-angled slabs that were very icy. Recommend keeping your dog on leash here in case they slip or taking them slightly higher and bushwhacking through the dense woods. Fin slipped and while she stayed upright, she was frantically shuffling all four legs about 30 feet down the ledge until she could get off the side into some snow/scrub. Very scary moment.

Comments
Comments: Views exceeded expectations today, and expectations were high. Beater spikes went on pretty quick on Davis path as there was plenty of ice off and on for entire route. Not much snow and when there was it was extremely hard/compacted. Sharp spikes recommended for short traverse across steep ledges going up Resolution. Very sketchy spot with tons of ice-I put on Hillsound Pro's and Dan put on sharp spikes-I was very glad to have my spike/crampon hybrids for this very short section. My dog could have used some traction as she took a potentially catastrophic slide but was able to self correct. Only saw one family of four hikers on summit of Parker.
