Comments
Comments: Spikes to about 3100' going up where I switched to full crampons which I wore back down to about 2900' where I put the spikes back on to the car. Full crampons are recommended; a couple other guys made it up and down in just microspikes but this is not recommended as it is very icy in a few spots including the steep ledge and the gully section above it. Ice axe would likely be too short to be of use on the descent. Snowshoes are useless due to the combo of very icy and lots of exposed rocks. The exposed ledges near the main summit were extremely windy and there was enough snowfall to obscure our tracks on the ridgeline. Be careful descending the gully and steep ledge and anticipate it taking much longer than book time with current conditions. Greeley Pond Tr is similar to my previous trip on Saturday except much lower brook levels.
