Barefooted the first 1.7 miles with very little ice and trace snow. Wore microspikes from that point to the summit. Mostly smooth ice for mile 2 to 3, and packed snow for the last mile to the Madison Hut. Not much snow from hut to summit, with scattered patches of ice. Great terrain to squeeze in Madison before the next snowfall. Very high winds today. |
