Did an out-and-back to North Lincoln. The ice was navigable with careful foot placement, but beater spikes were not getting the job done in many places. I switched out to Hillsound Trail Crampon Pro (full crampons would be overkill) on the upper 1.5 miles of OLP both ascending and descending. Microspikes are fine in these conditions, as long as they still have some edge to them. |
