Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The last 2 water crossings closest to the Highland Center were the sketchiest. The second to last one I crawled on all fours across a log to cross, and the last crossing I just stepped in the water to cross. All other crossings were fine with careful footing.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of trees down on Kedron Flume Trail, but easy to go around or over/under.

Comments
Comments: I put on spikes after crossing Kedron Flume and kept them on until I got to the highland center. Pretty icy going up Willey Range trail, but totally manageable with spikes. The ladders were actually the least sketchy part of that trail. I opted for a 302 roadwalk back instead of descending via Willey Range, so if you can avoid it, I wouldn't descend that way unless your spikes are super sticky. I passed a group of 4 on the ladders. Trail goes from icy to bare rock and back again up to the Willey summit, which essentially took the life out of my spikes. At Willey summit, one spike broke :(

Trail was very crowded after reaching Willey and I saw a lot of people. Trail itself was perfectly packed down and frozen to make it perfect for running. Intermittently ran to Tom and descended to the Highland Center. A-Z/Avalon Trail had maybe 2 slippery spots that my spikes just slid down on but that's winter hiking for you.
