Comments
Comments: First trail section was a mix of mud/ice/leaves with a dusting of snow. Relatively easy to avoid tricky patches, but I'd recommend micro-spikes from the start. Snow dusting starts to become problematic on sloped rock faces where it is difficult to tell whether you are stepping on ice. Best to stick to the trail edges, and make sure to give the trees some big hugs on the way down for your comfort as well as theirs. Snow was well-packed near the summit and easy to navigate.

Snow shoes not necessary today, but always good to bring along.
