I picked this hike because I wanted to avoid water crossings after yesterday's rain. I'm glad I did! Except for some avoidable black ice on the ledges to South Moat (which melted in the afternoon), this was an enjoyable, ice-free hike that was easy to bareboot. The ledges were slippery but not a problem with careful footing and the col between South and Middle Moat had some standing snow and water that was avoidable and minor. Great views from South and Middle Moat with moderate winds on top of South. |
